the most important reason to support any implementation of HTML5 is to prevent another Big Company from fencing off, monopolizing, and then profiteering from an aspect of the worldwideweb (as g***** has done with search.) having any portion of the rendering of websites dependent upon code supplied by a profit-making company goes against the decentralized and non-commercial nature of the internet. in this case, there is no downside, since the HTML5 player is robust and supported by most current browsers. if you have problems, update your browser.

Yeah... my browser is always updated and i have no problem streaming from many and assorted other sites.

But here is an interesting wrinkle. The new player will play both audio/video instantly as long as I go through FLASH but I get no audio when using HTML5. Since you brought this up. Any suggestions? I'm using IE9 - Google - OS Windows 7 on a state of the art gaming laptop.

Thanks for the input.
